If you are new to blogging, you may be wondering how to start without spending any money. One to do this is to use a free domain name and hosting provider.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is the address of your website on the internet. It's what people type into their web browser to visit your site. For example, the domain name for Google is google.com.
What's a hosting provider?
A hosting provider is a company that stores your website's files and makes them accessible to visitors. When someone visits your website, their browser sends a request to the hosting provider's server. The server then sends the website's files to the browser, and the website is displayed.
How to Get a Free Domain Name and Hosting Provider
There are several options for you. I recommend going with Blogger.com, Medium.com, or Bloghunch.com. You can sign up with these 3 platforms and you can begin writing right away. You do not have to pay anything and you don't have to worry about any technical stuff. Do know that your domain name will have something else attached to it. For example, with blogger.com, your domain name will have a .blogspot.com after your domain name. With BlogHunch.com, your domain name will have a .mybloghunch.com after your domain name.
That's the downside of using free option. But, that doesn't stop you from writing, reaching out to people, growing an audience, and making money. So start writing now!
